I know that the Dominican Republic speaks spanish, they share an island with Haiti, and people swin to Florida from there to escape the bad leadership they have there.  Alot of great people that play sports have come from there too, including Albert Puhols. (even though he left us) 

 

I learned that they use the Dominican peso as currency. One peso equals .0273 USD. Ialso learned that it is divided into 31 provences
